In the computer embroidery process, two steps are very important, the cutting before the appliqué embroidering and the cutting after the embroidering. In the traditional processing technology, the defect of the cutting die processing method used for cutting before embroidering is that it is easy to produce fabric fringing, the cutting precision is limited by the die, the special-shaped graphics are difficult to process, the production cycle of the die is long, and the cost is high, which restricts the development of appliqué embroidery. However, the cutting after embroidering mostly adopts the hot-cutting method, which has the disadvantages of large cutting edge gaps, yellowing and hard edges, and difficulty in alignment. Special-shaped graphics rely on hand-cutting, which is easy to loose edges and produce waste products. Therefore, an advanced processing method is urgently needed to replace these two old processing methods.
Although laser processing is also a thermal processing method, due to the high focus of the laser, the irradiated spot is thin and the thermal diffusion zone is small, it is very suitable for cutting textile fiber fabrics. This is specifically shown in the wide range of processing fabrics, smooth cuts without flash, automatic closing, no deformation, graphics that can be designed and output by computer at will, no knife die, etc. This makes laser processing a recognized alternative in the industry.
