Description

The protective window is used to isolate the physical space while laser beam pass through. When selecting the window mirror, consider the material, transmittance, divergence, wavefront error, parallelism and stability to a certain environment.

SPT lasers provides various protective window made of different materials.

We also provide laser protect window with single or multiple antireflective coatings.

Note: The contamination of laser lenses in laser machines will cause serious acquisition errors for laser output and data acquisition systems. If the lens is kept clean, the service life of CO2 laser lenses will be prolonged.

Problems & Solutions

Frequent cracking of laser protective window during operation


 

If the actual on-site testing environment is harsh, with multiple lens stains, local dampness will occur. Improve the operating environment, keep it as clean as possible and wipe it regularly to avoid the breakdown of laser protective window caused by prolonged use. 

Attentions

Laser heating can absorb dirt and contaminate the surface of protective window. Dust, oil vapour, water vapour, splashing of materials during cutting or marking, fingerprints and so on can contaminate the protective window. Keep away from potential sources of contamination and maintain regular cleaning processes of protective window. User should check the optical system before taking shifts to prevent possible contamination or damage to laser lenses.


protective window cleaning precautions:


1. Always wear rubber/latex finger cots or gloves when operating laser lenses. Dirt and oil stains on the skin can seriously contaminate the laser lens and greatly degrade its performance.

2. Do not use any tools to operate laser protective window, including tweezers.

3. For protection purposes, laser optical lenses should always be placed on the provided wipe paper or cotton cloth.

4. Do not place protective window on hard or rough surfaces. The surface of laser optical lens can easily be scratched.

5. Do not clean or touch the exposed surface of gold or copper.

6. Keep in mind that all the laser lenses components are fragile.


protective window cleaning steps:


1. Take off the protective window with a finger cot.

2. Blow the debris scattered on the surface of the laser lens with an air bag and place it on a clean and soft cotton cloth.

3. Use clean degreased cotton balls and soak them in acetone before wiping the lens surface.

4. Wash the protective window with acetone, then hold the corner of the wiping paper and place the paper on the lens. Drag the paper slowly to remove the residual acetone, then dry the surface of the lens.

5. Heavily polluted metal based mirrors can be first cleaned with polishing agent. The polishing agent should be at a minimum to ensure the removal of necessary dirt. Then use the aforementioned methods to clean.

6. Finally, carefully inspect the surface of the laser protective window under intense light. Repeat the steps if there are residual contaminants.


* Since there are many challenges to cleaning laser optical lenses with mounted frames, it is recommended that you only use the cleaning procedures described here on the uninstalled laser optical lenses.

After determining that the protective window needs to be returned to SPT laser, to keep the product’s appearance intact, please use the original manufacturing package or equivalent packaging.



Void warranty when:

1. Protective window’ surface was contaminated, resulting in the breakdown of crystal material and coating by laser.
2. Film damage caused by whether improper storage or wetness of any surface film system of the protective window.
3. Contaminated protective window was not cleaned in the correct way, resulting in coating damag.
4. Damage of optical lens crystal caused by external force.
